The issue of leaving the EU is particularly complex for Northern Ireland, as this is the only part of the UK that has a land border with an EU member state. Leaving the EU could potentially have a huge impact on a great many different aspects of life in Northern Ireland, from issues relating to human rights to the continuation of the Good Friday/Belfast Agreement.

In this research paper, all of the possible post-Brexit border outcomes for the movement of goods and of people are set out in a manner that gives answers to key questions that policy makers are now negotiating.
